Terms of Service
Effective date: March 19, 2026
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Jive.dev desktop application, website at jive.dev, and any related services (collectively, the “Service”), operated by Jive.dev (“Jive,” “we,” “our,” or “us”).
By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. The Service
Jive.dev is an AI-assisted software development environment that helps engineers plan, implement, and validate code using multiple AI agent workflows. The Service includes:
- The Jive.dev desktop application (macOS, Windows, Linux)
- The jive.dev website, documentation, and dashboard
- Any APIs or integrations we provide
2. Accounts
You must provide accurate information when creating an account. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You must not share your account with others or allow unauthorized users to access the Service through your account.
You must be at least 16 years old to use the Service.
3. Plans and Billing
3a. Community Plan (Free)
The Community plan is free for personal, non-commercial use. See the license terms in Section 6 below. No credit card is required.
3b. Pro Plan
The Pro plan is a paid subscription that unlocks commercial use and additional features. Billing is processed by Stripe. By subscribing, you authorize us to charge your payment method on a recurring monthly basis until you cancel.
You may cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you retain access until then and no partial refunds are issued for unused time.
3c. Price Changes
We will provide at least 30 days' notice before changing subscription prices. Continued use after the notice period constitutes acceptance of the new pricing.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service to develop malware, spyware, or tools designed to harm others
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Service or attempt to extract source code
- Circumvent, disable, or interfere with security features of the Service
- Use the Service to violate applicable laws or regulations
- Resell or sublicense access to the Service without our written permission
- Use automated scripts to create multiple accounts or abuse rate limits
- Impersonate another person or entity
5. Your Content and Code
You own your code. Nothing in these Terms transfers ownership of your source code, projects, or intellectual property to Jive.dev.
The desktop application processes your code locally on your machine. We do not receive, access, or claim any rights over your source code or AI-generated outputs.
You are solely responsible for the code produced with assistance from the Service and for ensuring it complies with applicable laws, licenses, and third-party rights.
6. License Terms
6a. Community Plan — Non-Commercial License
The Community plan grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Jive.dev desktop application for personal, non-commercial purposes only. You may not use the Community plan to build software that you sell, license, or monetize.
6b. Pro Plan — Commercial License
An active Pro subscription grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable commercial license to use the Service as part of your professional or business development activities. This license terminates upon subscription cancellation or account termination.
7. Third-Party AI Providers
Jive.dev uses a “Bring Your Own Key” (BYOK) model. You connect your own accounts with third-party AI providers (Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, etc.). Your use of those providers is governed by their respective terms of service. We are not responsible for the outputs, accuracy, or conduct of third-party AI models.
You are responsible for ensuring your use of third-party AI APIs complies with those providers' terms, including any restrictions on automated use or commercial applications.
8. AI-Generated Content
The Service leverages AI to assist in software development. AI-generated code and suggestions may contain errors, security vulnerabilities, or inaccuracies. You are solely responsible for reviewing, testing, and validating all AI-generated output before deploying it to production or using it in any critical system.
Jive.dev does not warrant that AI-generated outputs are accurate, complete, safe, or fit for any particular purpose.
9. Intellectual Property
The Jive.dev name, logo, website design, desktop application (excluding open-source components), and documentation are our intellectual property. You may not use our trademarks or branding without our prior written consent.
Feedback, bug reports, or feature suggestions you provide to us may be used to improve the Service without obligation to compensate you.
10. Disclaimers
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR THAT DEFECTS WILL BE CORRECTED.
11. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, JIVE.DEV SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, USE, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH THE SERVICE, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING FROM THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID US IN THE THREE MONTHS PRIOR TO THE CLAIM, OR $100, WHICHEVER IS GREATER.
12. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Jive.dev and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Service, violation of these Terms, or violation of any third-party rights.
13. Termination
