Privacy Policy

Effective date: March 19, 2026

Jive.dev (“Jive,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and how we use it when you use our desktop application (Jive.dev desktop) and our website at jive.dev (the “Service”).

1. What We Collect

1a. Account Information

When you create a Jive.dev account, we collect your email address and optionally your name, through our authentication provider (WorkOS). We do not store passwords — authentication is handled via email magic links or OAuth (Google, GitHub).

1b. Billing Information

If you subscribe to a paid plan, payment is processed by Stripe. We store a Stripe customer ID and subscription status. We never see or store your credit card number — all payment data stays on Stripe's servers.

1c. Usage and Telemetry (Optional)

The desktop application does not transmit your code, prompts, AI responses, or project files to Jive.dev servers. Your source code stays on your machine.

We may collect anonymized crash reports and basic usage metrics (e.g., feature activation counts, error rates) to improve the product. This telemetry contains no personally identifiable information and no code content. You can opt out in Settings → General → Telemetry.

1d. AI API Keys

Your AI provider API keys (Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, etc.) are stored exclusively in your operating system's secure credential store (macOS Keychain, Windows Credential Manager, Linux Secret Service). We cannot access them. They are never transmitted to our servers.

1e. Log and Analytics Data

Our website uses standard server logs (IP address, browser type, referring URL, time of access) to monitor security and performance. We may also use privacy-respecting analytics tools that aggregate page view data without tracking individuals across the web.
